⁷ They killed Zedekiah’s sons in front of his eyes. Then they put out Zedekiah’s eyes and tied him up in chains, and brought him to Babylon.

The House of God Is Destroyed

⁸ On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, Nebuzaradan came to Jerusalem. He was the captain of the soldiers, a servant of the king of Babylon. ⁹ He burned the house of the Lord, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He burned every great house with fire.
